Tara has joined Ricardo having over 7 years’ local government and consulting experience working in waste and resource recovery in both Australia and the UK. Tara has extensive experience in the delivery of frontline collection services including engaging the community and customers in both domestic and commercial collections. Tara’s passion lies in waste education and affecting real and measurable change to deliver positive outcomes. Specialising in waste education and engagement Tara has experience researching, developing and delivering innovative education and behaviour change programs across a range of waste and recycling issues to deliver on organisational strategy and government targets.
As a waste consultant, Tara has worked to deliver a range of projects for government, corporate and industry clients including providing technical advice and authoring litter strategy and action plans, waste management plans and options analysis.
In roles at Oxford City Council, Tara was the lead responsible for the development and delivery of projects to increase service participation and engage customers in domestic and commercial collection and processing services. This included developing and implementing waste education programs and campaigns to increase recycling rates across the city, conducting domestic and commercial market research activities to benchmark industry best practice to recommend service improvements and innovation.
As the Waste Education Officer at Randwick Council Tara was responsible for the development and delivery of strategic waste services and recycling education, communications and behaviour change programs. Working across the organisation, Tara led the research, testing and implementation of innovative environmental education and behaviour change programs across a range of waste and recycling issues to deliver on organisational strategy and government targets.
