Makesh is a charted mechanical engineer with an expertise on thermal design. He has over 28 years of work experience in plant performance optimisation, process & system design, research & product development and consultancy experience.
Makesh has international work experience in delivering EPC projects across Asia, Middle East, UK, Europe, Australia, and North America. For the last 12 years, he has managed design and product developments in the UK, and have a detailed knowledge of UK, EU, and international environmental legislation. He has worked for both private and public sector and has a background across a broad range of technical and environmental disciplines.
Makesh helps clients to understand their need, undertake process improvement study, develop key performance targets for environmental and thermal performance projects. Makesh, with his applied science and engineering background, has a passion for new technologies and offering innovative solutions. His expertise has been in evaluating novel technologies, appraising performance guarantees, and commercial implications to maximise clients’ benefit whilst mitigating company risks, thereby ensuring sustainable solutions in the power and waste industries. He proactively presents information and helps clients to make strategic decisions on projects, with an aim of driving low carbon / net zero technologies and encouraging a circular economy.
Makesh has vast thermal design experience in combustion technologies like Atmospheric Fluidised Bed combustion (AFBC), Circulating Fluidised Bed combustion (CFBC), pulverised fired (PF) Combustion, Oxy-fuel combustion, Various Grate combustion, Advanced Thermal treatment, and Oil & Gas fired combustion technologies. Makesh has led the design team undertaking Feasibility, FEED and EPC design including design reviews. He has good knowledge and experience of the process safety /site health and safety with exposure to HAZID /HAZOP studies attendance and closeout.
Makesh has previously served as technical lead for Expert Witness in disputes of non-performance projects. He has provided an independent opinion on matters on design verification, fuel / waste characterisation and compliance, plant design checks for wider range of operational scenarios and critical sensitivity checks required for safer and stable continuous operation of the plant.
Currently Makesh is working as the technical lead for projects related to Energy from Waste for clients across the globe.
