Emma currently works in the waste operations and circular economy business area, supporting the international team in terms of business development in Australia. She has experience across waste, energy, water and air quality sectors within Ricardo Energy & Environment. She has wide ranging international experience and is now permanently based in Brisbane, Australia.
She has been responsible for coordinating projects, liaising closely with technical departments and clients to deliver quality work to meet strict deadlines. She has been heavily involved in the production of research and technical reports as well as presentations for clients. Emma also has in depth experience with GIS software and has trained teams to use QGIS ensuring they are able to manipulate and plot data to create maps for clients.
Her work in the Waste Practice has focused on analysing waste flows within the Circular Economy sector. This included work for Zero Waste Scotland in which Emma collected data on waste management companies and provided quality checks on resource efficiency improvement reports. She was also heavily involved in Environmental Assessment Reports, SEAs, WRMPs, Drought Plans and fieldwork. Within the Energy Practice, Emma was involved in project research supporting senior consultants. She was responsible for international case study research, data collection and management, analysis of generation, transmission and distribution projects, tariff and system planning studies, economic and financial analysis.
