Sarah is a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years of experience in power consultancy and project management. Sarah has had responsibility for and been involved with a wide variety of projects associated with smart networks for UK Distribution Network Operators. These include the Smart Grid Forum Distribution 2030 study; several Low Carbon Network Innovation projects including consideration of the development of network visibility tools to enhance technical and commercial decision making by system operators and planners; as well as projects involved with condition monitoring of equipment and the consideration of future power supply options. Sarah is assisting the Energy Networks Association (ENA) with the implementation of the European Network Codes and their integration with the existing GB distribution documents and has previously provided technical support to the ENA and Ofgem in respect of Distributed Generation. Sarah has also worked with regulators in Africa, Jamaica and Ireland.
Prior to joining Ricardo Energy & Environment, in 2005 Sarah worked for Parsons Brinkerhoff where she gained considerable experience in power system studies to plan and analyse transmission, distribution and industrial power systems across the world. She has undertaken studies to consider system development, load flow and short circuit analysis, dynamic stability, loss reduction, harmonics and reliability.
