Pete brings to projects extensive experience in assessing technologies and evaluating feasibility for energy facilities, particularly Combined Heat and Power (CHP), biomass, and Energy from Waste (EfW) installations. Pete is a CIBSE registered Heat Networks Consultant with expertise in the feasibility, design and operation of Heat Networks. His experience includes extensive monitoring of combustion emissions and commissioning and performance testing of industrial process plant across a wide range of industrial sectors, including offshore installations.
His consultancy experience spans over 30 years across the energy and environment sector, during which he has engaged with a wide range of stakeholders, negotiated with industry operators and regulators, prepared specifications, evaluated and undertaken the due diligence of projects and tenders and delivered seminars and training courses for external bodies. In his role as expert procurement advisor to a Local Authority, he advised on all technical issues during the Competitive Dialogue (CD) process, including the development of evaluation criteria, the technical evaluation of tenders and the completion of contract terms. Pete has acted as client's representative for the construction of new medical waste incineration facilities, undertaking significant on-site representation.
Pete is an expert evaluator of applications to incentive support schemes for CHP installations and District Heating systems. He provided support for UK Government investment in research projects through the Cleaner Fossil Fuels and Carbon Abatement Technologies programmes and currently leads an extensive programme technically assessing and auditing heat decarbonisation projects and providing technical support to the client.
