Arbaaz is the Business Area Manager for Overseas projects in the Energy Practice. He is a principal consultant with over 8 years of experience in development consulting. He has a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and a Masters in Energy, Environmental Technology and Economics. His work experience in strategic and management consulting covers various countries in Asia and Africa. He has most recently developed the Generation Dispatch Verification Tool for the Office of Utilities Regulation in Jamaica. He has also been involved in the development of the 5-Year Strategic Business Plan for the Regulator of the East Africa Power Pool (ERERA), and in the Integration of Economic and Financial Analysis in the existing Institutional Processes at the National Power Transmission Corporation of Vietnam (EVNNPT).
Prior to joining PPA Energy, Arbaaz served as the Chief Executive Officer of e.Gen Consultants Ltd., Bangladesh. He has served as Project Director for various high profile assignments including the development of the Mongolia Energy Sector Master Plan for the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy (MMRE) and the Asian Development Bank; the Training and Curriculum Development for Public Private Partnerships in India, for the Ministry of Finance (DEA) and the World Bank; and the Expanding Access to Islamic Finance for SMEs in Indonesia for the World Bank. He was also attached with the Prime Minister’s Office in Bangladesh under the IFC supported Policy Coordination Committee project and has lead training in Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) for government officials in Bangladesh.
