Sina is an international expert in the fields of emission monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) with over 15 years of experience in this area.
Sina worked on the initial development and continuous improvement of the MRV requirements under the EU Emission Trading System on behalf of the EU Commission for over 8 years. Later on, she developed an MRV approach for impacts of mitigation actions under the international climate initiative (ICI) and an approach for the design of climate related credit lines maximising the GHG and non-GHG impacts achievable with the funds available for KfW Development Bank.
Together with her team she presently supports developing countries in designing and implementing their national MRV systems, allowing them to steer towards climate related targets, maximise development benefits and comply with international reporting requirements. This includes the design and implementation of long-term tailored capacity building programmes. Examples include Chile, The Dominican Republic, Ghana, The Philippines, Bangladesh, Jordan, Belarus, and Costa Rica. She is accredited with the UNFCCC as GHG inventory reviewer for the industrial processes and other product use sector as well as the review of other national reports required by the UNFCCC and regularly performs reviews.
