Ricardo Energy & Environment has unparalleled experience in Water Framework Directive (WFD) application and have supported and reviewed all the WFD pilots for Defra. Our team consists of recognised experts in the water sector and we are at the forefront of Government and water industry R&D into:
- WFD assessment and hydroecology for United Utilities' Ben Gill site
- Supported UK water companies with environmental and social appraisal of water resource management and drought Plans. This included delivering strategic environmental assessment, habitats regulations assessment, WFD assessment, environmental and social costs and expert witness support.
- Abstraction investigations for Welsh Water for Wye and Usk, including hydrological and ecological monitoring, flow and water quality modelling and stakeholder engagement.
