Industrial pollution control

Supporting industry to improve air quality and meet regulatory obligations

We provide support on industrial process regulation to both regulatory and policy-making authorities, such as our recent evaluation of regulatory controls in India.  Liaising closely with our energy efficiency and climate change practices, we provide leading expertise on the air quality implications of meeting our future energy needs to clients including the European Commission, national governments, environmental regulators and city authorities.

Alongside this, we work closely with the operators of some of the most challenging industrial processes.  These include waste to energy facilities, sewage works, and heat/power generating facilities. We provide expertise on assessment, management and monitoring of air quality, odour, health and nature conservation impacts industrial processes. Our clients for this work include planning and regulatory authorities, investors, funding agencies and private sector clients worldwide.

We complement our ability to address environmental issues with unique expertise in environmental policy development, implementation and evaluation including evaluating the economic issues around control technologies.  Bringing our expertise together enables us to provide ongoing policy support to the European Commission and UK Government on cost-effective regulation, and to advise process operators on their regulatory strategy, environmental management and associated investment decisions as well as how best to engage and influence the policy development process .
