The LCNF provided up to £500m of funding to projects sponsored by the six GB Distribution Network Operators. The evaluation project explored whether or not this investment has been successful in terms of encouraging innovation through the delivery of low carbon schemes. The report has now been published by Ofgem – alongside its own consultation document.
The overarching aim of this evaluation was to support the future development of innovation in the industry. A key part of this work has been to engage with those who have been involved in the LCNF, and also with those who have thoughts and views which helped in the evaluation process.
The outcome of this study has helped Ofgem develop its consultation proposals on potential changes to the Network Innovation Allowance and the Networks Innovation Competitions.
The report and the consultation are both available to read on Ofgem's website. Read the full story here - http://utilityweek.co.uk/news/market-view-high-innovation-is-essential/1290592#.WGt-k1WLS70
