Harwell is our Head Office. It is also our largest office situated on the Harwell Business Park, which is a Science based Business Park in the heart of Oxfordshire.
The office is set over two floors and is open plan throughout. Each floor contains meeting rooms, breakout areas, a kitchen, showers and toilets. In most meeting rooms you have a phone, LCD and AV, whiteboard, data (network) and live meeting facilities. Some rooms also have a projector and screen.
Kitchens on both floors are fitted with microwaves, hot water dispensers, filtered water machines, and a dishwasher. Tea and coffee facilities are provided. Our ground floor kitchen also has a vending machine. Each kitchen has an ample amount of tables and chairs for people to eat lunch away from their desks.
We have a sandwich van that visits the office car park each day. A bike rack is available in our car park and we have showers on both floors. Lockers are available for those who need them.
There is a coffee shop located within a 5 minute walk from the office and we have access to a subsidised canteen within another building which is in walking distance. A nursery, newsagents, hairdressers, sandwich shop, post office and physiotherapist are located on the Business Park. There is a garden center within a 5 minute drive down the road that also has a café and we are close by to a handful of village pubs. Wantage, Didcot and Abingdon are all only a short drive away.
We are located off the A4185, midway between Newbury and Oxford. From junction 13 of the M4, take the A34 northbound. From junction 9 of the M40, take the A34 southbound.
Rail and Bus
Ricardo Energy & Environment is 8 km (5 miles) south west of Didcot Parkway railway station. The station is well served with trains from London Paddington, Bristol, South Wales and Birmingham. Taxis and buses are available at the station. The 32 and X32 bus from Didcot Parkway both drop off at the Business Park. Buses also run from Oxford Train Station and Newbury, from Oxford you would either need to get the X1 or the X32 and from Newbury you’d need to get bus number 6.
There is a shuttle bus that runs directly from Didcot Parkway to the office. This is a privately run scheme and costs a small fee per journey.
Heathrow, Stansted, Gatwick, Birmingham and Southampton airports are all within a short distance of the motorway and railway networks.
Parking is available on site free of charge to visitors and employees.
The Gemini Building
Our Cardiff base is within a serviced office environment at Sophia House close to the City Centre.
There is a Café on the ground floor of building 26 which is open to all clients and visitors. There is a television, cooled water dispenser and tea and coffee facilities in the Café.
There are 2 meeting rooms with full audio visual equipment.
The office is located on Cathedral Road which is a few minutes’ walk from the Millennium Stadium and the city centre.
Sophia House is a 5 minute drive off of the A48 and A470.
Rail and Bus
The closest train station is Cardiff Central train station which is a ten minute walk from the office.
Cathedral Road is on a circular bus route from the Train station (Cardiff Central) and Bus station (Wood Street) in Central Cardiff where the M3 bus runs and there is a bus stop directly outside the office.
Parking is available on site and on the street outside the offices free of charge.
28 Cathedral Road
The Birchwood office is based on Birchwood Park which is located close to the M6 and M62 interchange in Warrington, Cheshire. Situated close to a number of the major cities in the North-West, Birchwood is approximately 15 miles from Manchester, 25 miles from Liverpool and 30 miles from Chester.
The office is situated in a self-contained suite on the ground floor of Chadwick House, which is one of the central office buildings on the Birchwood Park site.
The office has an open plan desk area, together with three meeting rooms and kitchen facilities. The kitchen is equipped with kettles, a microwave, a filtered water machine and a fridge and dishwasher. Teabags (including herbal tea), coffee and milk are all provided.
There is a shop at the Chadwick House reception which serves hot and cold snacks and Starbucks coffee, and there is also a café with seating area in the building adjacent to Chadwick House. A wider range of hot and cold breakfast and lunch dishes are available at the Centre, which is opposite Chadwick House. Lockers are provided by Birchwood Park.
There are a range of other facilities available on Birchwood Park including a health and fitness club, nursery facilities and a hotel.
The Birchwood shopping centre is situated about two miles from Birchwood Park. This has a range of facilities including a large supermarket, hairdressers, post office, and a range of other small shops. This is adjacent to Birchwood Rail station, which has regular services into both Manchester and Liverpool.
Birchwood Park is located just off the A574, less than two miles from J11 of the M62 and approximately three miles from J21A of the M6, and Birchwood is well signposted from these exits. J9 of the M56 is about seven miles away. Birchwood Park also run a car sharing scheme for commuters across all the Companies that work on the Birchwood Park site.
Rail and Bus
There are regular trains from Warrington Bank Quay station, running on the west coast main line between Glasgow and London Euston. Bank Quay station is approximately six miles from Birchwood Park.
Birchwood's dedicated railway station serves the main line for regular train services from Manchester and Liverpool via Warrington Central station. This is less than two miles from Birchwood Park.
Both Warrington Bank Quay and Warrington Central Stations have taxis outside the station. Generally the taxi journey to Birchwood Park will be between 20 - 30 minutes depending on traffic.
Warrington’s local buses provide a regular service between Birchwood Park and the surrounding areas. Buses departing from Warrington’s bus interchange and railway stations take approximately 20 minutes to reach Birchwood Park. Birchwood Park also offer a 50% discount off a weekly bus saver ticket for use on all Warrington Borough Transport buses, which is available to Ricardo Energy & Environment staff.
Birchwood Park also provides a free shuttle bus from outside Chadwick House at peak times, which is available to Ricardo Energy & Environment staff. This shuttle bus links Birchwood Park with Birchwood train station for the morning and evening commute, and also with the Birchwood shopping centre during lunch time. The timetable integrates with both morning and evening trains to and from both Manchester and Liverpool.
There are a number of local walking routes available, particularly between Birchwood Park and Birchwood train station. Birchwood Park can offer guided lunchtime walks to help those new to the area and, where possible, will assist in putting staff in touch with a walking buddy.
Both Manchester and Liverpool John Lennon airports provide links to national and international destinations. Both are within easy reach of Birchwood Park by motorway, with Manchester Airport a 30 minute drive away.
Controlled free parking is available at Birchwood Park for both Ricardo Energy & Environment visitors and employees.
The Glasgow office is centrally located, giving great access to the city’s amenities.
The office is set over two floors (2nd floor and basement) and is open plan throughout.
We have two kitchens, one large located on 2nd floor and one small located in basement. The 2nd floor kitchen is fitted with microwaves, a kettle and fridges and the basement kitchen has a microwave and kettle. There are ample amounts of tables and chairs for people to eat lunch away from their desks. We also have a tuck shop and a ‘Food Free to a Good Home’ box – ensuring no waste.
Toilets are situated on both floors, with the disabled toilet in the basement containing shower facilities.
Lockers are available for those who need them.
A cycle rack is located outside our basement and showers and lockers are available.
There are 3 meeting rooms with full audio visual equipment.
There are various coffee shops, restaurants, pubs, hairdressers etc. all located within a 5 minute walk from the office. Sauchiehall Street, one of the main shopping areas is 5 minutes away and Buchanan Galleries is 10 minutes away.
Eastbound - Take Junction 19 off M8, which leads on to Bothwell Street. Stay in the left hand lane and turn right at the traffic lights, into Pitt Street. Stay in the right hand lane as you drive up hill and turn right into West George Street. The office is on the right hand side opposite Blythswood Gardens.
Westbound - Take Junction 17 off M8, which leads on to Sauchiehall Street. Stay in right hand lane until T-junction, turn right at the traffic lights, into Douglas Street. Stay in the right hand lane, until you reach Blythswood Gardens.
Rail and Bus
We are approximately a 10 minute walk from Central Train Station. Queen Street Station is approximately a 15 minute walk. Buchanan Street bus station is approximately a 20 minute walk through the main shopping area. Taxis are available at all of these stations.
Glasgow airport is approximately 20 minutes from the office and can be reached using taxi or bus. The bus service is every 15 minutes.
The bus service is provided by First Bus and runs every 15 minutes. The Glasgow Shuttle 500 bus departs the airport and will drop you off in Bothwell Street. To the airport it departs from is Waterloo Street.
Metered parking is available around the immediate vicinity of the office, spaces are not. However we would encourage using the transport links to the office.
18 Blythswood Square
30 Eastbourne Terrace neighbours the historic Paddington Station.
The office occupies one floor, is open plan and has been designed to enable true flexible working. There are 9 meeting rooms, 1 board room, a touchdown area and a breakout area. All meeting rooms have full audio visual equipment. Microwaves, tea and coffee facilities and a filtered water machine are available in the breakout area.
The office provides facilities for disabled persons.
There are 48 external bicycle spaces, and shower facilities are available.
Our location means that we are only a short walking distance away from shops, restaurants coffee shops etc.

30 Eastbourne Terrace
PPA Energy Practice office is situated on the Surrey Research Park, in Guildford which is a major centre of excellence in technology, science and engineering.
The office is set over two floors and is open plan throughout. There are two meeting rooms situated on the ground floor which have a phone, whiteboard, data (network) and projection screen.
There are kitchens on both floors with a fridge, kettle and microwave available on the first floor. Tea and coffee facilities are provided. Tables and chairs are available on the first floor for people to eat lunch away from their desks.
There are two cafes located within a 3 minute walk from the office and we also have a small shop at the Royal Surrey hospital and a supermarket that is within walking distance. There are two lakes on the park which attract an assortment of water birds. The Town Centre and the railway station are approximately a 10 minute drive away.
We are located off the A3, midway between Wisley and Godalming. From junction 10 off the M25, take the A3 southbound after approximately 10 miles take the turn off for the Royal Surrey County Hospital. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Egerton Road. Continue forward onto Gill Avenue. At the roundabout take 3rd exit onto Occam Road and turn left into Frederick Sanger Road.
Rail and Bus
Ricardo Energy & Environment is approximately 10 a minute drive from Guildford railway station. The station is well served with trains from London Waterloo, Reading and Gatwick. Taxis and buses are available at the station. The 5, 26, 27 buses from Guildford Station rear exit drop off at the Research Park.

Free permit parking is available on site free of charge to visitors and employees. Visitors can obtain a temporary permit from the PPA Energy practice office upon arrival.
