Presentation: EU-China cooperation on climate policy and strategy

Ricardo Energy & Environment delivered this presentation as part of supporting Tsinghua University’s project: ‘Feasibility study of Linking Guangdong and Hubei Provincial Emissions Trading Schemes (ETS) pilots’. This project assessed the technical barriers and feasibility of linking the Guangdong and Hubei pilot emissions trading schemes. Our presentation makes policy recommendations for China by using the experience of UK ETS integration into the EU schemes and the EU-Australia carbon market linkage. The role of domestic political factors in negotiating a linkage is also discussed. Download presentation.
